September is National Preparedness Month. This is a real thing and I’m really into it, having grown up with earthquakes in California.
It’s also back-to-school time in New York so I’ve been busy preparing my kids with the annual trip to Staples to buy school supplies.
Which brings me to: Are You Career-Ready?
Whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience and impressive credits, it’s a good time to do a self-audit. (If you are Jewish, Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, is in 3 weeks, so really, there’s no better time.)
Is your headshot working for you?
Is your resume up to date? What about your Linked In profile?
Could your website use a tweak?
Does your twitter profile feel fresh?
How about your wardrobe?
Feeling healthy, strong and fit?
If the extraordinary happens and you find yourself alone in an elevator with Oprah are you prepared to make the most of that moment? Lightening won’t strike twice, you know.
In order to seize that day, I invite you to join Personal Branding Expert extraordinaire, Phil Pallen, and me in Brooklyn on September 23rd for Branding You! Personal Branding and Social Media Workshop.
You’ll come away knowing exactly what to say to Oprah and how to ignite your career in the year 5775 (Hebrew Calendar).
You can sign up here.
Speaking of website tweaks, I muted the colors of my logo to be autumn-ready. Thoughts? Ideas on winter shades? Leave your suggestions below.
