There is no point at which you can say, Well, I’m successful now. I might as well take a nap. – Carrie Fisher
It’s been a hellzaoppin couple of weeks. Exciting developments on the work front, family milestones and just the general craziness of life – which is why I have broken one of the cardinal rules of blogging so early in my career: missing my own self-imposed weekly deadline.
I’m exhausted (who isn’t?).
So the Carrie Fisher quote caught my attention on twitter this week. You mean, once you reach whatever your definition of “THERE” is, there’s no resting?
Not really.
We all know this. But we’re working hard and need to stay motivated so we fantasize about some place where’s it’s all good and we can nap all we want (my happy place is a beach cottage in Rhode Island. You can see how actively I’m manifesting it on pinterest).
But in the here and now there’s no napping on the road to Successland nor resting on your laurels when you arrive.
Ask Ryan Seacrest or Oprah.
